Ons het nog altyd gesê dat ANC kaders baie skaars mekaar blameer of verklik, maar dit blyk dat die Zuma affêre die ANC leiers in ‘n moeilike posisie plaas. Die minister van polisie, Bheki Cele en die nasionale polisiekommissaris, Khela Sitole het die Grondwethof skriftelik in kennis gestel, dat hulle nie nou al vir oud-president Jacob Zuma in hegtenis gaan neem nie, hangende die twee hofaansoeke wat Zuma gebring het, om sy vonnis te hersien. Dit kom na die grondwetlike hof Zuma verlede week skuldig bevind hat aan minagting van die hof, en hom tot 15 maande tronkstraf gevonnis het, nadat hy nie ‘n bevel om voor die ondersoek na staatskaping te verskyn, nagekom het nie, maar Zuma beweer sy konstitusionele reg tot stilswye is hiermee geskend.

Die Departement van Verdediging en Militêre Veterane het erken dat meer as R1 miljard die afgelope tien jaar aan Kubaanse diensverskaffers gegee is, as deel van die projek Thusano, om toerusting te herstel en onderhou. Maar dan kla die minister omdat die Weermag se medium termyn begroting verminder is?
Hierdie skokkende detail het na vore gekom in antwoord op ‘n parlementêre vraag van die DA, wie se woordvoerder vir verdediging, Kobus Marais, gesê het dat dit onverklaarbaar is waarom sulke take aan die Kubane uitgekontrakteer word, terwyl die Suid-Afrikaanse wapenverskaffers sukkel weens gebrek aan werk.

The Solidarity trade union has announced that they are continuing with a court application to force the minister of Water Affairs, Lindiwe Sisulu, to cancel her planned import of 24 Cuban water engineers, into South Africa at a cost of R65 million, especially since it was revealed that Sisulu refused to appoint qualified white engineers who have applied for the posts, simply because they were white.
Sisulu made this shameful admission in an interview with Radio 2000, yet Sisulu has not abandoned her Cuban import plans and is using stalling tactics like demanding more talks with Solidarity after Monday’s meeting.
Solidarity had the meeting with Minister Sisulu to try convince Sisulu to appoint South Africans to the post but she is not budging which is why on Tuesday Mr. Dirk Hermann of Solidarity told the media that Solidarity is continuing with the court process.

It seems ANC Ministers have taken their cue from fellow Socialist radicals in the West, as they are no longer shy to admit their anti-white racism. Lindiwe Sisulu, ANC’s minister of Water Affairs, has admitted that white suitably qualified and experienced water engineers have applied for the posts, to which she just imported and appointed 24 Cubans, but that she refused to appoint the white applicants on the basis of them being white. However, having signed the agreement with Cuba for 26 water engineers more than a year ago, (see statement below), she had a handy excuse, so why the racism?

Lindiwe Sisulu, Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation (DWS), expressed her concern after the rain stayed away and dam levels dropped dangerously fast. She made a plight that people must immediately start saving water to avert a possible Day Zero in Gauteng. She announced in Johannesburg on Monday that Gautengers use an average of 320 liters of water per person per day, while the acceptable world standard is 170 liters per person per day.
In recent weeks, the Transvaal and Free State experienced a prolonged heat wave, which caused water consumption to rise sharply and evaporation in the large storage dams was much faster than predicted.
With the Vaal Dam already under 50% of its capacity, and other dams having as little as 20% in content, there is reason to worry.

International Relations Minister Sisulu hails this as heralding a “new dawn” in human rights foreign policy – but Pretoria also voted against a resolution condemning Russian human rights violations in Crimea.
The South African government hailed “a new dawn in South African foreign policy” after its envoy to the United Nations General Assembly in New York changed Pretoria’s vote and backed a resolution condemning human rights violations by Myanmar against the minority Rohingya people.
In November, South Africa had abstained from voting on the same resolution when it was before the General Assembly’s Third Committee which deals with human rights and humanitarian matters.
After an outcry against that vote, International Relations and Cooperation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu instructed South Africa’s diplomats in New York to back the resolution when it came up in the plenary of the General Assembly.
