The FF Plus demands that the Free State Department of Health urgently intervene and ensure that all high-care units in the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein are restored to an operational condition.
Currently, there is not one operating high-care unit in this hospital.
At a recent Health Portfolio Committee meeting in the Free State Legislature, the head of the Free State Department of Health, Dr. David Motau, reveals that only the high-care unit on the third floor of Pelonomi Hospital is operational.
However, the FF Plus has determined that this unit is used as an ordinary hospital ward.
The FF Plus has addressed a written question to the Free State MEC of Health, Montseng Tsiu.
The party condemns the poor quality of healthcare to patients who cannot afford private healthcare.
